goddess rising (prologue + chapter one only)
gundam!au; onho/taekey, eventual jongyu/minkey
mecha, drama, action; pg-13
this part @ 10 000 words

summary: Jinki Lee was just a student eager to please his professors by developing a shielding technology more advanced than anything else. He never realized that in the course of trying to pass his finals, he'd be caught up in the strains of the impending war between Naturals (normal humans) and Newtypes (enhanced, evolved humans). Without warning, Jinki is introduced to a Goddess. Now, he and his Goddess need to work, together with ace pilot Minho Choi and mysterious heir to the throne Kibum Kim to protect their mother ship Quincy and survive until they reach the Earth. But aside from those, Jinki still had a lot of questions, like what is the Pandora's Box and how can it stop the wars? Who is Taemin Lee and why is Kibum obsessed with him? Why can't Jinki forget about the blond-haired Newtype who almost got him killed?

author's notes: So, I didn't finish my Nano and ended up doing a little over 50%. However, the written parts aren't perfect so I'm still reading and nitpicking over them, LOL. The majority of this multichapter is based on Gundam Seed/Wing/00/Unicorn so there are a lot of similarities I'd like to apologize for beforehand. The reason I'm posting this is because I'm not sure if many people will be interested in such a concept/genre, so I'm a bit hesitant in completing it. I do hope someone reads this part and likes it ; w ;. Thank you!

PROLOGUE

It is the year 2050, 35 years into the Cosmic Era (35 C.E.).

Many years before, in order to address the issue of dwindling resources and places for settlement on Earth, mankind decided to find a way to be able to live in space. After years of experimentation, they succeeded in building artificial settlements, or colonies, outside the Earth, in space. These colonies are 5M, 5H, 1N, and 3E. They function like the cities on Earth, except that unlike the cities on land which obtain energy from nuclear power and fossil fuels, these colonies are powered by nuclear energy as well as energy harnessed from the sun. The colonies are installed with artificial environments, like lakes, farms, forests, and mountains, in order to simulate life on Earth as closely as possible. Other aspects of the Earth like climate and geological phenomena were still not implemented, and any Earth settler who tries to live in the colony could tell the difference. But the lack of earthquakes, typhoons, and other extreme weather factors had made the colonies peaceful and self-sustaining.

Living in space proved to be difficult for the people, but after a few years they began acclimatizing to the weak gravity, lack of seasons, thinner air because of the lack of atmosphere, and other abiotic factors which are drastically different from the ones on Earth. In the process of adapting to the new, artificial environment, mankind has slowly started to evolve.

It was discovered that certain individuals are born in a new state of evolution, as expressed by very obscure anomalies in the DNA. These people are immune to viral illnesses and rarely contract contagious diseases. They are hyper-aware and more focused in their tasks due to more powerful senses of hearing, sight, and smell. They have heightened intelligence as well as exemplary decision-making skills. They have greater mental capacities, super-fast reflexes, and possibly other skills that are not yet discovered. These highly gifted people were then labeled Newtypes.

The appearance of such distinct evolution became a monumental issue. The Earth Alliance, leader of most of the world nations, started documenting the appearance of Newtypes, registering each and every one of them in a database that contain all of their family information, history, and acquired Newtype skills. The first generation Newtypes were closely observed in order to find out how they were superior and inferior to the natural human race. Newtypes were both admired and feared because of their “differences”. Soon, in the desire to have children who are sure to excel physically and mentally, people have started to overtake the natural process of evolution by developing Newtypes through genetic engineering. Experimentation led to various benefits yet they were outweighed by the repercussions. The government banned genetic engineering and shunned the existence of artificially-enhanced Newtypes.

Because of their highly superior characteristics, Newtypes were eventually feared or discriminated by Naturals, or people who are born on Earth or born without Newtype genes. They were shunned from work and school with the reason that their Newtype skills might cause imbalance among the rest of the population. Newtypes who are talented in art or sports were often ridiculed for their “artificial gene” that gives them their skill. Some identified Newtypes were not even allowed to travel to Earth, and they remained confined within the colonies because Naturalsweare afraid that they would stain the planet. For the purpose of maintaining a “clear, blue Earth”, Earth Alliance members who strongly object to the existence of Newtypes formed a vigilante group called Clear Cosmos in order to annihilate any Newtype who dared step onto Earth. The vigilante group was not endorsed by the EA but they were also not apprehended.

The negative treatment and sentiments of Naturals made the Newtypes feel oppressed without justice. Because of this, high-ranking Newtypes within the government withdrew from the Earth Alliance. They set off for the colonies and closed some of them off from the Naturals. These caused a coup d’etat to start in three of the four colonies: 5H, 1N, and 3E. From these colonies, armies are formed to wage a war against the unjust and racist Naturals. The Newtype registry was hacked and removed from the Earth Alliance database, and military secrets regarding armaments were stolen. Appeals of peace treaties as well as negotiations were rejected.

When Earth Alliance sent their fleets to invade the colonies and regain control once more, they were faced with copies of their own weapons and war machines. Fighter jets, tanks, even the newly developed mobile suit (MS) systems were developed and controlled by the resistance within a short period of time. The EA regarded this as an act of war, and as such, the Colony Wars started.

After two years of war, with death, destruction, and demise looming over both sides, a treaty was once more proposed. This time, the leaders of the Newtypes agreed to negotiate. The result of the meetings between the two groups led to the formation of the Colony Treaty 2035. The provisions include the removal of the Newtype registry in order to avoid personal and individual attacks on Newtypes; absolute protection of the colonies from the Earth Alliance; transparency of EA’s military plans, meaning they cannot develop new weapons without the knowledge of the other group; and the formation of a different alliance for the colonies. This alliance, which is formed by Newtypes for Newtypes, is named the Enforced Newtype Alliance of the Colony Treaty (ENACT). ENACT ensures the safety and rights of all Newtypes, who are now mostly residing in the colonies. The three colonies began functioning as autonomy.

The fourth colony, 5M, remained neutral and allied to other neutral countries on Earth. As the richest and biggest among all the colonies, 5M refused to act under EA or ENACT and created an independent alliance of its own: Andromeda, or Andromeda for Cooperative Equality (ACE). Andromeda swore to not meddle in the war between ENACT and EA provided that they do not take their battles near Andromeda territories. Both sides tried to bring down Andromeda so they can use its resources and advanced war technology, but the sheer power of Andromeda’s defense, empowered by humanoid combat vehicles called mobile suits, kept both EA and ENACT at bay.

Despite the Colony Treaty, both EA and ENACT are wary of each other and continue to have political, environmental, and scientific conflicts. In 2046, EA launched an attack on an ENACT military base in Korea with the reason that it was holding unofficial and unapproved missile testing near EA territories. However, the missile attack on the base was a misfire, and ended up destroying a city full of civilians instead. Enraged, ENACT returned fire. Since then, the treaty was considered null once more as both sides took up arms—ENACT with the purpose of avenging the casualties of the misfire, and EA with the purpose of defending themselves from the more skilled, highly intelligent Newtypes. While both sides stated that they were eager to end the war, neither was ready for diplomatic negotiations.

Just a few years after the first Colony War ended, another war was brewing. One wrong move, and the second Colony War may begin.

CHAPTER 1

2100 hours
EA Orbital Elevator, Heliopolis
40 000 km from the Earth’s surface

It was not Jinki’s lucky day.

First, he forgot all about his meeting with the Professor that evening. He was putting in some hours in the engineering club when someone talked about the party in Heliopolis—the very place where Jinki was supposed to meet his thesis adviser. He quickly went home, but upon reaching his room he realized he didn’t know where he put the invitation he was supposed to bring and present at the door. After searching his room for nearly an hour, he realized he had pinned the invitation on his fridge. Upon leaving the house (finally), he missed his scheduled ascent via shuttle and had to take a second one 45 minutes later. By the time he arrived at the venue, he was an hour and a half late, and that was just the first of his worries.

The scan came out clean, but the security still eyed him warily as they asked him to pass through the heat sensor. Jinki couldn’t really blame them. If he was security, he would eye himself suspiciously, too. After all, who would come to a formal party with a fancy invitation just wearing his university jacket over a plain black shirt, a pair of faded jeans and sneakers?

“You’re all clear,” the security personnel announced, somehow sounding unsure of his own statement. Jinki bowed deeply then retrieved his knapsack, careful not to make any more eye contact while coughing in case they try to restrain him again.

The party venue was at the Orbital Elevator’s largest space, the Heliopolis Grand Hall. The dome was set at west side of the Elevator’s Upper Orbit Station, 40 000 kilometers from the surface of the Earth. The hall’s walls were made of transparent polymer, so guests could see the deep space lurking outside. Jinki knew he was late, but he couldn’t help pressing his face against the glass, looking down to see the rest of the Elevator’s structure below.

The Orbital Elevator was developed by the Earth Alliance to serve both as a space elevator for tourists and as a solar power satellite. The tower is composed of three compressive elevator towers wherein space trains take off and land to take people back and forth the Earth and the colonies. The elevator towers were supported by two large geostationary rings, the Lower Orbit Station (LOS), at 10 000 kilometers from the Earth, and the Upper Orbit Station (UOS). The LOS was much bigger and was mostly used for commercial and business purposes, having a mini-town wherein tourists can stay. It was also where civilian space trains take off. The LOS had houses, shops, and even artificial gravity to make it seem like it’s an extension of the Earth. The UOS, on the other hand, was where the military space trains take off. It also contained the hangar for other aircrafts, the control room of the entire Elevator, the military personnel station, and the offices for high-ranking officials. While strictly military-concentrated, the UOS also had a viewing deck for tourists as well as banquet and meeting halls, like the Heliopolis Grand Hall. At the top of the UOS, outside, a photovoltaic array was installed for harnessing solar energy, which was transmitted to Earth via the elevator shafts themselves. The very top of the tower also had a ballast satellite.

Jinki looked up in time to see small space debris floating towards the Elevator. But before they can even touch a part of the Elevator, the rocks seemed to hit an invisible wall and dissolved.

Jinki smiled as he pulled himself away from the viewing deck. He had come here with his classmates before, when the Elevator was still being built. As part of their final exam for a course, they were told to come up with the solution to the problem of the Elevator being vulnerable to meteorites and space debris, as well as radiation, weathering, and corrosion. His other classmates suggested putting around the tower a chemical barrier, which was effective against weathering and corrosion, even radiation. But the Elevator would then still be vulnerable to melee and missile attacks as well as high-velocity projectiles like meteorites. Keeping that in mind, Jinki programmed a system that will induce wave-like electrical interface that would be activated like a shield around the elevator to protect it from physical attacks. The shield made of strong, steadily flowing electricity would disintegrate smaller debris and deflect large objects, like missiles, that try to pierce it. Jinki called it the Voltage Coat and submitted the plan for it for his finals.

The Professor seemed really interested in the idea and even asked Jinki to make it his thesis topic. Jinki did, and soon, they developed a force field strong enough to protect the Orbital Elevator from physical attacks and weak beam attacks. It was a success, and every time Jinki entered the Orbital Elevator, he couldn’t help but feel proud of his Voltage Coat protecting the largest tower in existence. It was all thanks to the Professor.

Cheers erupted from the guests in the banquet, and Jinki was reminded of his appointment. He briskly walked into the party, accepted a drink from a server, and regarded the man speaking on the podium. Jinki couldn’t remember his name, but the man was one of the people who paid for the maintenance of the Elevator. He was a rich man, that was all Jinki could remember about him.

“Today,” the man started, “we are celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Orbital Elevator’s development. In these five years, we have witnessed how this magnificent tower had aided us, not only in our transportation but also in our change towards the use of renewable energy sources. The Orbital Elevator had helped us diminish the use of mass drivers, which are bulky and scattered all over the world. Today, anyone can go to and from Earth and the colonies just by taking a space train!”

The mass drivers were a long-debated issue on Earth. Jinki remembered studying about the effectivity of mass drivers and how they can create something better that them. Mass drivers are bulky and too exposed—basically long coils of tracks that span the length of four football stadiums. The shuttle starts from the bottom of the tracks, then accelerates as it goes through the tracks, just like a roller coaster. When it reaches the highest point of the tracks, the shuttle obtains enough thrust and leverage to be able to oppose Earth’s gravity and leave the atmosphere. That was how each travel through space started years before. But with the development of the Orbital Elevator, travel became easier, more accessible, and more affordable. Space tourism boomed, and people were able to visit friends and relatives on Earth or the Colonies without a lot of trouble.

Jinki inched towards the nearest wall and leaned against it. He didn’t want to stand out in the crowd because of his clothes. At the back of his mind, he wondered why a stockholder was the one giving the speech when the developers of the tower, including the Professor, were also here. But instead of worrying about it, he decided to make a beeline for the buffet table. If the Professor wasn’t around yet, maybe he could grab a quick bite and…

“Gosh, there you are!” a voice exclaimed behind him. Jinki turned around to see a young woman with bright, albeit annoyed, eyes. She was wearing a ratty white long-sleeved shirt, a pair of denim shorts, and sneakers. A thin headband framing the short hair around her sleep-deprived face. Somehow, Jinki was glad someone else was underdressed. “The professor’s been waiting forever!” the girl scolded him while eyeing his half-full plate of food.

“Sorry, Taeyeon,” Jinki said with a sheepish smile. Taeyeon Lee works as the Professor’s secretary, although Jinki wondered if she was doing it part time. She looked too young to be already working a full-time job. Still, she was always around whenever the Professor worked on something or was always the one doing errands for him, like picking Jinki up.

“Drop the plate right now,” Taeyeon muttered as she tugged on his sleeve. “We are a bit behind schedule.” Jinki left his plate on a side table and followed Taeyeon towards the back of the banquet, where large double doors lead out to a hallway.

Taeyeon weaved through the crowds, letting Jinki half-walk, half-float behind her. “Why did the Professor call for m—mph!”

Jinki rubbed his nose, looking up at the man he just bumped into. A decorated soldier blinked back at him, probably puzzled as to how they would even bump into each other when it’s a relatively empty space. “I’m sorry,” Jinki said, bowing a bit before following Taeyeon. The soldier nodded but followed them with his eyes, his gaze fixed on Taeyeon. Jinki inwardly smiled; even when dressed like that, Taeyeon really attracted a lot of attention.

Tayeon looked at him and shook her head, motioning for Jinki to follow her outside.

The door led to a series of hallways Jinki was not familiar with. He had never been to the Professor’s office in the Upper Orbital Station, as their previous meetings were always held in a café in the Lower Orbital Station. As they passed through several doors, Jinki repeated his question about the reason why he was called by the Professor.

“It’s about your thesis,” Taeyeon absently replied as she looked at her phone. “The one you made that for this tower? He needed a bit of help with the phase-shift…” There was a rumble overhead, and Taeyeon froze.

“What’s a phase-shift…” Jinki started, but Taeyeon pressed a finger to her lips. “What’s going on?” Jinki mouthed. He flinched when the rumbles continued and the lights in the hallway flickered ominously.

Taeyeon cursed, quite unbecoming for her pretty, innocent-looking face, but Jinki was used to the girl’s outbursts. “We’re late. We need to hurry if we want to survive this!”

“What are we talking about?” Jinki asks, confused and scared of the steady rumble from the distance. The lights completely went out. Jinki could barely make out Taeyeon’s face.

Taeyeon stood still in the middle of the corridor, looking at her phone, and Jinki stared at her in puzzlement. Suddenly, she grabbed Jinki’s arm and started running. “Okay! We have to hurry! There’s just one more that needs activation.”

“Taeyeon-ah!” Jinki tried saying as they rushed through the hallway. “What is going on?” He tried to shake the girl’s hold on him, but as he wrestled out of her grasp, a loud explosion boomed through the hallway. Jinki quickly grabbed Taeyeon’s shoulders and pushed her to the ground, covering her body with his as they shielded themselves from the explosion.

It all happened so quickly. Jinki wasn’t even sure where the explosion came from. He tried opening his eyes, but the surroundings were so dark. His ears had a ringing sound echoing through it. His fingers felt numb and his throat felt like sandpaper was rubbed in it. Rubble was everywhere and he felt dust covering his hair and clothes. He sat up, blinking back the tears and darkness and letting his senses slowly recover.

As the darkness in his eyes faded and as the ringing in his ears stopped, Jinki realized that the explosion was right in front of them, destroying the entire corridor. Just a few minutes later and they would’ve been walking through that hallway. They could’ve been dead.

Suddenly, there was movement under him, and Jinki struggled to get up, pulling Taeyeon’s arm with him so she could sit up. “Are you okay?” Jinki asked, trying to peer into Taeyeon’s face.

But Taeyeon ignored him, cursing and pressing her lips together. Jinki could see the tears about to drip from her eyes, but he kept quiet. “We were too late,” Taeyeon muttered through gritted teeth. “We thought we have some more time.” She scrambled to get up, not even checking herself for injuries.

“What are you saying?” Jinki asked. Taeyeon leaned onto his arm for support as she stood up. “What do you mean we’re late? Is it my fault?”

Taeyeon turned to him in surprise and shook her head. “No, it’s not. It’s ENACT.”

Jinki’s eyes widened. He knew what the ENACT was. But he didn’t know why they would attack the Orbital Elevator. Even if the structure was made by Earth Alliance, it was essentially neutral because it was mainly for civilian use. There was even a plaque stating this in the front lobby of the Heliopolis Hall. He wanted to ask a lot of questions, but Taeyeon was hurriedly limping towards a set of elevators. “Hurry!” she urgently said. Just as they entered the elevator, shots fired from the location of the banquet hall. Taeyeon cursed and Jinki firmly pressed the close button. They didn’t see a shadow of whoever was attacking when the elevator made its descent.

“Sorry,” Taeyeon muttered. She pulled out an ID card and pressed it against the sensor. Suddenly, the screen beside it glowed, revealing additional options of a double basement and a hangar. “I know this is sudden, Jinki-ssi.” Taeyeon slumped on the corner. “The professor…well, we can’t go and see him now. They probably had reached his office.”

Jinki swallowed. “Who?”

Taeyeon sighed. “ENACT. The Professor, for some reason, said they’re going to attack today. We tried telling the higher-ups but they were busy with the launch of their new ship and wouldn’t take us seriously. I mean, they’re probably wondering where we’ll get news when we’ve been cooped up in the lab all day, you know?”

Jinki opened his mouth to ask another question, but he found himself dumbfounded. He absolutely had no idea what’s going on.

Taeyeon seemed to have noticed his confusion and gave a hollow laugh. “Okay, I’ll explain it to you in detail later. If we survive this. But the reason the Professor wanted you to come was to help him complete the system for a mobile suit he’s working on. He used your technology in making it, but somehow there were some parts of the system that wouldn’t work when the phase-shift system is online.”

“Phase-shift?” Jinki repeated. “You mentioned that before but I don’t know…”

“Oh yeah, I forgot.” Taeyeon pulled a tablet from inside her jacket. How she managed to fit it in there and retrieve it unharmed, Jinki couldn’t tell. “I meant your Voltage Coat system. The one that’s protecting this tower, right? When the Professor applied it to an MS, he changed the name to Phase Shift System, because instead of making continuous electricity in straight lines, the PS system emits electricity as it detects impact. The waves also bend around the armor so th—“

“Taeyeon, just…just wait a minute.” Jinki held up his hand. “I know this is the least of your concerns right now, but I want to know why the Professor… why was he even into developing mobile suits?”

Taeyeon looked at him, eyes wide, but did not say anything. Jinki wanted to say something, but he saw how the girl kept her hands in fists by her side, so he kept quiet once more. After a few moments, Taeyeon whispered, “I’m sorry, Jinki. But you have to help me before ENACT gets those mobile suits.”

Jinki nodded. The tell-tale ding of the elevator rang through the small space. As the doors opened, they heard and saw exchanges of gunfire through the hangar. Taeyeon tossed the tablet to Jinki, then pulled out her gun. Jinki wondered how Taeyeon could stash so many stuff in her clothes, but before he could linger on it, they were being shot at.

“Run!” Taeyeon shouted. “Run to the left. You’ll see the Goddess by the left wall!” Then, she fired her gun. “I’ll cover you so hurry!”

"Goddess?"

"You'll know when you see her!"

Jinki took a deep breath and broke into a run. It really wasn’t his lucky day.

2045 hours
EA Orbital Elevator, West Pillar
35 000 km from the Earth’s surface

They were 15 minutes into the mission and just as the General predicted, they remained undetected. There was a large party going on inside the Orbital Station, and the military was busy protecting the high-profile guests. There was also the news of EA launching a new ship, and they were ordered to lure it out.

Jonghyun found it a bit ironic that the Orbital Station was going to be sabotaged on the anniversary of its opening.

“Alpha team? It’s time.” Eunsook’s voice through his earpiece was like music to his ears. “You know what to do, Jonghyun.”

“I do.” He motioned for his men to move forward until they completely surround the small maintenance door at the side of the elevator shaft. One of his men attached his microcomputer to it and hacked the passcode system. Without resistance, the door opened, and Jonghyun poked his head through the door.

Inside was one of the shafts through which space trains pass. Right now, the shafts were closed due to the party and no one was probably monitoring it, being busy monitoring other parts of the Elevator. They probably thought no vessel would be able to pierce through the Voltage Coat surrounding the structure.

They were right. So Jonghyun’s team left their ship behind, donned special space suits for long distances, and traversed the entire way, avoiding debris and detection, to the side of the Upper Orbital Station, where the shield was the weakest. The shield worked following the concept: the stronger the impact, the stronger the reaction. Jonghyun’s team only needed to slip through quietly while wearing highly insulated suits and they were safely inside the Voltage Coat, with the Elevator towering before them.

Jonghyun slipped through the door and floated along the shaft, looking around for any people or cameras that may detect them. Eunsook had assured them that she managed to hack through the security system, but it wouldn’t hurt to be extra cautious. After a few minutes of speeding through the shaft, Jonghyun found what he was looking for.

“This is Alpha Team. We found the entrance hangar,” Jonghyun muttered. The other side sent an affirmative, and they began counting.

10…9…8…

Jonghyun pulled his beam gun from his holster.

7…6…5…4…

He readied his gun as he and his men cleared away from the locked door they found. He gripped the railings of a nearby balcony.

3…2…1.

Loud explosions went off one after the other, rocking the entire structure. The loudest was from inside the hangar, which the other team had breached from another side. Jonghyun made a big motion for the others to follow him into the entrance, ready to take on the guards and engineers. But as they entered, Jonghyun had to stop. His mouth opened in both shock and awe.

They had gathered intelligence before that the EA was secretly developing mobile suits that can surpass their previous ones, as well as the ENACT ones. Since developing new technology was prohibited under the Colony Treaty, it was just normal that the Newtypes were both scared and angered at the blatant breach of treaty. The information that Andromeda was even cooperating with EA was even more disappointing. Because of this, the General organized a secret task force that would investigate the Elevator, the rumored 'base' of the mobile suit development.

Even though today was an important day not only for EA members but for space tourists, the day being the anniversary of the very important Orbital Elevator, there were also many things set in motion aside from it, it seemed. First, there was the announcement of EA's new "civilian and transport" ship, which they would reveal in the party. It was well within the treaty provisions, only EA seemed to have forgotten to report that this transport ship was also armed with beam cannons and missile launchers, a fact ENACT intelligence had uncovered just mere days ago. EA had already been called out on it, but it seemed they still planned on launching it after all.

Second was Andromeda's invitation to meet with ENACT's General. Meetings between the leaders were not uncommon, but Andromeda's insistence that the meeting be kept in secret was suspicious. Jonghyun had no idea how the meeting went through, but it was not of his concern at the moment.

His concern was mostly in front of him, three mobile suit units, each about 19 meters in height. They were designs they'd never seen before. Slowly, Jonghyun pressed his earpiece and spoke, "This is Alpha Kim. We have confirmed the existence of new mobile suits in the hangar.Three inactive units. Will try to explore."

The Captain's voice, instead of Eunsook's, came. "Kim Jonghyun. Don't just explore it. Your team must get the suits."

"Captain?" Jonghyun thought he misheard.

"You heard me, Jonghyun. You must get those three suits. We can't let those assholes keep them!"

"But, Sir. I'm sorry, but shouldn't we report to the United Alliance first before doing something like..."

"Jonghyun, I'm not very fond of my subordinates who always question my judgment," the Captain menacingly replied. "Do you want those damn Naturals to wield these weapons and destroy our territories again? Think of Seoul! Think of how many civilians died in that city!"

Jonghyun swallowed, bitterness rising within him. Suddenly, the Captain's words made a lot of sense. He turned to his team, who all nodded enthusiastically. He pressed his lips together, then replied, "I understand, sir!"

"This is for ENACT!"

"For ENACT!" The team echoed. They proceeded to enter the hangar, mindful of the exchange of fire happening on the ground. Jonghyun quickly went for the mobile suit nearest to the entrance, but was stopped by a barrage of gunfire from below. Dodging quickly and hiding behind the mobile suit, Jonghyun shot back at the soldier who was coming after him.

"Hurry up!" the soldier was shouting to someone else. Jonghyun saw two more persons half-running, half-floating towards the other side of the hangar. Unlike the soldier, they weren't wearing uniforms. He aimed his gun towards them, but the soldier shot at him again, forcing him to hide. The soldier then shouted again. "Taeyeon, take cover inside Valkyrie!"

Valkyrie? Jonghyun mused. Could it be the name of the mobile suit? He didn't have much time to think about it. Instead, he focused on climbing towards the cockpit of the mobile suit in front of him. Shots fired again, bouncing off the suit's armor, but Jonghyun's team quickly covered him.

Jonghyun reached the cockpit of the massive mobile suit. This suit was a dark red with some white highlights. The other two standing beside this were black/white, and blue/white, respectively. Smiling despite of his situation, Jonghyun silently praised whoever designed the suits. He spent a while scrutinizing the surface of the armor, noticing some tiny sensors at some of the junctions where the plates met. However, the urgent cries from his team below prompted him to speed up the mission.

He pressed a button beside the cockpit and it effortlessly slid open, surprisingly. Ignoring that flaw, Jonghyun entered the cockpit and settled on the pilot seat. He hadn't even touched any of the controls when the front view lit up, opening the cockpit window and giving him a view of what happened below. Some of his soldiers were down and Jonghyun cursed again. He hurriedly studied the computer interface near the controls.

Below him, the soldier shot one of Jonghyun's team and made a dash for the other mobile suit. Furrowing his brow, Jonghyun briskly went through the mobile suit controls and prepared for combat. As he did so, he spotted movement right outside the hangar, in the elevator shaft. His cockpit monitor identified the moving objects as two mobile suits.

Jonghyun pressed his lips together. It looked like there were more mobile suits than he had thought. He tightened his hold on the control levers and turned to face the newly activated mobile suit beside him. He briefly closed his eyes and muttered.

"For ENACT."

2050 hours
EA Orbital Elevator, Testing Laboratories
40 000 km from the Earth’s surface

Any minute now, the guards would notice that he took a different turn instead of heading to the banquet hall like he said. That was why Kibum should hurry.

One by one, he peered through doors, a bit scared of getting caught. But the rooms were all empty. The entire floor seemed devoid of people. He checked his digital blueprint of the Orbital Elevator on his phone, looking for any clues on the location of the meeting rooms. But they weren't indicated in the blueprint at all, leaving Kibum to sprint through the hallways, looking for possible places where he could find his father.

His father. Kibum pursed his lips as he hurriedly inspected the rooms one by one. His foolish father had somehow decided on something that could cause a war, not only between Naturals and Newtypes but also including them, Andromeda, which was supposedly a neutral member of the alliance.

Andromeda had flourished and protected itself from the two factions for years. They welcomed both Naturals and Newtypes in their colonies and nations, and their territories were living proofs that these two can live in harmony without the need to fear or intimidate each other. Their alliance was the epitome of peace and always endorsed peaceful talks over exchange of fire. They never sided with anyone, and would always be the most steadfast in the midst of strife. Kibum believed that his father had wonderful ideals--ideals he wished to follow later on--but apparently, he was wrong.

Andromeda was regarded as a strong alliance by both Naturals and Newtypes because of their updated arsenal, impressive weaponry, and superb intelligence. However, Kibum's father seemed to have used this power instead to choose a side between the two factions. Just a few days ago, Kibum had overheard the cabinet members talking amongst themselves regarding a meeting between his father and the President of Earth Alliance. It was a meeting about a certain exchange, and if Kibum hadn't misheard, his father was willing to give EA information in exchange of new weapons.

There was a sudden explosion, making the floor tremble and shake Kibum out of balance. He stood up again and looked around in panic before running again. Before, his father used to speak of a Pandora's Box in Andromeda's possession. Apparently, the Pandora's Box contained classified information from both EA and ENACT. If the Box ended up in the hands of either faction and they managed to open it, they'll have immense power and knowledge over the other faction.

Kibum had to find the Pandora's Box.

There was another explosion, and the sound of running feet made Kibum dash into narrow hallway to avoid soldiers who might be coming his way. As he caught his breath and cautiously walked on, he spied a room at the end of the hall. He hadn't checked that one yet. Unlike the other rooms, this one had light seeping from under the doors. Carefully, he leaned against the side of the door and pressed the button to make it slide open.

The door hissed open and Kibum peered inside. But he didn't find any meeting in progress. Instead, he found a lone chair in the middle of the completely white room. On the chair sat someone who was bound hands and feet with a blindfold over his face and a leather cuff over his mouth.

Kibum warily approached the figure, which, judging from his features, was a boy. He couldn't tell the boy's age. But he could tell that the boy was unconscious. Somehow, he knew he shouldn't even look at the boy. He didn't know who it was and why he was tied up in the middle of a deserted hallway. But the boy seemed barely legal and helpless. Kibum couldn't possibly leave him alone.

Gingerly, Kibum undid the boy's blindfold. As expected, he was unconscious. Next, Kibum removed the leather mouth cover, and he felt anger rise in his throat. Under the leather cover was another cover, one made of cloth. It was soaking in saliva. Kibum wondered who would even do this to a helpless-looking boy. Not even prisoners were treated like this, with a cloth half-jammed into their mouths.

Next, Kibum picked at the handcuffs restraining the boy's hands behind him. The clatter of metal seemed to rouse the boy. By the time Kibum was done undoing the ties around his ankles, the boy was blinking, face contorted as the light pierced through his eyes.

Kibum shielded him from the direct glare of the light. "Are you alright?" he softly asked. The boy rubbed his raw wrists but nodded feebly. He blinked at Kibum, as if trying to recognize him, then looked around. "Do you know why you're here?" Kibum asked once more.

The boy shook his head then croaked, "I don't know." His voice was so hoarse, he must've been kept here for hours. Kibum gritted his teeth. Just who did this to this poor kid? "Who are you?" the boy asked him.

Kibum leaned down and let the boy hang one of his arms around Kibum's neck. He helped the boy stand up and slowly walk towards the door. "We have to escape first. It seems there's a fight outside and we'll be caught in it if we don't hurry. I'll tell you my name if we manage to survive this idiocy."

The boy didn't say a word, and Kibum pressed the door open once more, peering through the corridor and readying his gun.

If he got out of this alive, Kibum would need to have some serious talking with his father about future of their nations.

He couldn't even remember his name at first.

When he opened his eyes and saw the man cutting off his bonds and asking if he was fine, all Taemin could think of was how cold the room was. His head hurt so much, and his hands were shaking. The room was pure white, almost blinding, and he felt the sting in his eyes. He closed his eyes firmly then slowly opened them again, blinking back the pain as he sat up straight and rubbed his wrists. His wrists and ankles hurt so much, probably because of the shackles on the floor.

"Who are you?" he had asked the other man. But his question was ignored. Instead, he was forced to stand up and walk through a long hallway.Taemin's head throbbed and he just wanted to lie down and rest his aching muscles, but somehow he felt that it was also urgent that he escaped. He had no idea why he was here--hell, he didn't even know where they were--but somehow his instincts screamed escape for him.

There were distant sounds of things exploding and guns being fired and men shouting. But Taemin closed his eyes and let himself be led through the hallways. He decided to just concentrate on the warm arm around him and the comforting voice against his ear. He'll have all the time to worry about everything later when they managed to get away from this dangerous place. "We'll be there soon," his savior assured him. "We just need to...oh my lord."

Taemin opened his eyes. They were in the middle of a very large room. It was devoid of people but there were a lot of machines. Fighter planes and military-issued trucks were side by side on the floor. But the ones that attracted Taemin's attention were the humanoid but huge robots standing against the wall. Looking at his companion, it seemed the guy was interested in them, too.

"Father," the guy muttered under his breath. "Is this what you are trading for it?"

Before Taemin could speak, a shot rang through the room. The other guy quickly ducked, bringing Taemin with him. "Listen," the guy told Taemin as they crouched beside one of the huge robots. "We have to get into the cockpit of one of those things. I can't let anyone get it. We'll have to squeeze into the cockpit together, okay? On my count, we ascend to the cockpit. Do you know how to unlock a cockpit door?"

Taemin had no idea, but he found himself nodding. "Taemin."

"What?" the other guy asked, puzzled.

Taemin directly met the other man's eyes. "My name. Is Taemin Lee." He waited for a response, unmoving, despite the increasing sounds of conflict reaching their room.

Suddenly, the other guy smiled. "Kibum Kim. Now, let's get out of here!" He readied his gun and let go of Taemin's arm. "One, two...go!"

Taemin floated towards the cockpit while Kibum fired his gun at the assailants. There were just a few of them and Kibum swiftly go rid of them. Taemin had managed to touch the cockpit door safely. Without thinking, he pressed the side of the door, and it opened without resistance.

He looked at his hand. How did he manage to know about that?

But there was no time to ponder on it for Kibum had entered the cockpit and sat on the seat. He studied the controls for a bit, then reached out for Taemin's hand. "Let's go!"

Taemin started to reach out to, but suddenly, Kibum's pilot chair was pulled back, making him scream in surprise. The computer screen on Kibum's right glowed, and a voice-over was heard.

Initial pilot detected in cockpit. Please provide identification.

A helmet appeared over Kibum's head, and the instructions for wearing the headgear flashed in the screen. However, as Kibum reached for it, the cockpit began to close, leaving Taemin outside. "No, wait!" Kibum shouted as the cockpit door slid into a close. "Taemin!"

Taemin stared at the closed door, unsure of what to do. He was sure Kibum didn't want to leave him, but the robot probably didn't like him.

As he thought of what to do, Taemin was startled by Kibum's voice coming from the robot. He must've activated the speakers so he can be heard outside. "Taemin, do you hear me? Nod if you do." Taemin nodded. "Good. I can't get out of this thing. There are sensors in the helmet and they're scanning me. I can't let you in. But I also can't risk letting you hang on outside without a space suit. You'll die."

The robot then jerked into motion, one of its arm slowly raising to point to his right. "Do you see the other mobile suit?" Kibum asked him. Taemin nodded. It was hard not to notice the two...mobile suits, after all. The one Kibum was in was pure white without a hint of other color. The other was pure black. It was like they're the epitome of good and evil.

Kibum seemed to take a deep breath. "Alright, Taemin. Go enter that one. You might not have any pilot skills but I can drag you out safely if you're in a mobile suit. We'll just have to avoid detection until we arrive at my ship."

Taemin wasn't sure if he wanted to ride the seemingly evil one.

"Trust me, Taemin. Enemies might be here soon and we should leave." Kibum seemed to have read his mind. As if on cue, shouts from the hall leading to where they were erupted. "Hurry!" Kibum urged.

Taemin took a deep breath, wincing when his chest hurt. He realized he must have been more battered than he thought he was. He floated towards the other mobile suit and pressed the switch for the cockpit door. It slid open and Taemin slipped inside just as gunshots resounded from below.

He didn't even know who Kibum was or why Kibum was helping him. But without his memories, Taemin decided that the only way to survive was to trust this person. Quickly, he climbed the other mobile suit, closing the cockpit as an explosion rocked the hangar.

EA Orbital Elevator, Heliopolis
40 000 km from the Earth’s surface

"I thought the pilot team would be aboard the Regatta to meet the captains?"

Minho turned around and grinned when he recognized a familiar face. "Shouldn't First Lieutenant Victoria Song be also at the said meeting?" he held out his hand for a greeting.

Victoria smiled and gripped his hand. "I figure there are already a lot of eyecandy in there, might as well stay here in case there's a sudden attack. You know, the rumors." She raised her eyebrows knowingly and gave a few glances throughout the room.

Minho followed her glances and nodded. He knew what Victoria meant. They were supposed to launch the Earth Alliance's new ship, Quincy, after the party for the anniversary of the Oribtal Elevator. However, they've gathered intelligence that ENACT soldiers might sneak into the Elevator and hijack the ship. Because of that, the ship was hidden deep under the UOS. EA's biggest ship, the Regatta, was also placed on standby in case of combat.

But right now, they were in the middle of a grand banquet, with the stockholders making overzealous speeches to the crowd. Minho was actually getting bored, but half-listening to mindless speeches while eating good food was so much better than acting like a kiss-ass to the captains.

"I heard of the rumors. The ground base kept talking about it for days, even if there was no proof. So far there haven't been any reports of breaching, and Regatta's out there scouting." Minho leaned against a pillar. "And as for me, I'm off to pay respects to the Professor. I should give him a bit of thanks before I sit in the cockpit of one of his creations."

"Hmm, I see. You'd rather visit the Professor instead of trying to climb your way up the chain of command with your superiors." Minho just laughed at her teasing. Victoria retrieved the cap under her arm and perched it over her head. "Well, I guess I should go check things out in the deck and hangar and then make a short appearance in Regatta." But before Victoria could say her goodbyes, her phone rang. Puzzled, she raised a finger, motioning for Minho to take a moment, and took the call.

It hadn't been three minutes when Victoria hang up, face pale as she turned back to Minho. "There's a breach," she softly said, keeping it down so the guests wouldn't hear. "They entered through one of the Elevator shafts. But there's no information yet on how many people are there or which faction they come from. They can be terrorists, for all we know."

"Should we inform the others?" Minho asked. "Also, the President..."

Victoria shook her head. "The President's in a meeting with some officials right now. I don't know what it is for, but they brought their own security and asked us not to disturb them. I guess we should just investigate on our own first."

Minho nodded. "Since I'm stationed with you, I will take orders from you."

"You don't sound like you're the one taking orders, though," Victoria said, chuckling. "Anyway, I'm going to the Quincy first, then check the hangars for the packages. You might want to stay here for a while, observe things. They might openly attack this place to create diversion and I need you to intercept them when they do."

"Alright. I'll wait ten minutes then follow you to the hangar." Minho gave Victoria a salute as the woman left the hall, leaving him to look around for any possible threat. He slowly walked around, peering through the crowd to watch out for any suspicious person. But as he turned around to retrace his steps, he bumped onto someone who was clearly not looking at where he's going. The walking space was vast, and it was a surprise they even bumped into each other.

"Uh, sorry," the man sincerely apologized, looking up at Minho and then bowing again. Minho waved a hand and said it's okay, and the man retreated a bit, then turned the other way, walking towards a girl who was motioning for him to hurry.

Minho blinked. He knew that girl. She was the Professor's data-keeper. Although they hadn't been properly introduced, Minho knew that the girl was named Taeyeon and that she dropkicked one of the Professor's machines when it didn't work. But why Taeyeon was ushering someone who seemed to be a student from Blaze Military University was a mystery to Minho. He caught the other man stealing glances at him as they left the room.

Minho wondered about them for a bit, but shrugged and let it go. He'd meet them later, probably, when he pay visit to the Professor.

Suddenly, in the middle of the speech given by the Mayor of Heliopolis City, the city wherein the Elevator was erected, a rumbling was heard. Minho quickly looked up, noting the lack of alarm that should have been resounding through the Elevator already. He looked for the head of security in the hall, instructed them to stay alert and inform the upper station officials immediately. Then, he stepped out into the hallway where he saw Taeyeon and the other guy.

The moment Minho took a step outside, an explosion rocked the corridor. He fell to his knees, guarding his head in case of ceiling or wall collapse. After a few moments, he blinked his eyes open, brushing away debris dust from his face. His ears rang and his eyes hurt, but he stood up, retracing his steps and going back into the banquet hall. The guests were in a state of panic, but there were a lot of security personnel around. Minho figured the security would be able to escort the esteemed guests safely, so he faced the other end of the corridor where the explosion originated.

Minho then realized that the explosion came from the direction of the Professor's office. He ran towards the office, jumping over fallen walls and crawling under large debris. As he ran, he pulled out his radio. "This is Eagle Eye for Regatta. There's been a breach in the Upper Station, Please respond. Over." He waited for a reply, but there was only static for a long while. Clicking his tongue, Minho pocketed his radio and entered the Professor's office.

The office was ransacked, but there were no traces of the Professor or the other two persons who came to see him. Minho looked around for any clues, but there was only so much to deduce from overturned tables, toppled computer towers, scattered papers, and broken monitors. He looked for a trail or any trace of blood but there weren't any. He couldn't even tell if the Professor and his team left in a hurry or if they've been captured. Letting out a loud sigh, Minho turned his heels to leave the room when he heard gunshots.

"Shit!" Minho muttered, drawing out his gun as he leaned against the side of the door, and cautiously peered out of the room. Once he couldn't hear any movement, he broke into a run out of the room, shooting at the source of the previous gunshots. A gasp and an agonized moan told him that he shot someone, but he didn't have time to look back. He ran through the long hallway that would lead him to the hangar, cursing the straight, cold design of the hall that made him vulnerable to attacks. Thankfully, it was just a lone soldier who probably went back to double-check things and Minho was able to reach the door to the hangar.

Except things weren't really that easy. The moment he opened the door to the hangar, a rain of bullets and beams were fired at him from below. Minho gritted his teeth and lay on his stomach, crawling his way out of the door. If the assailants were below, they wouldn't be able to target him if he was crouching down. Slowly, he made his way out until he reached the first step of stairs. Swiftly, he veered to the side, towards the railing, and fired at some of the men below. He recognized their suits as the uniform of the ENACT special task force, and he sighed again. Of course, trust Victoria's intelligences to be correct as ever.

From his hiding place, Minho studied the hangar and the soldier's locations. The three "packages" stood in a row against the inner wall. Minho didn't know anything about them at all, but he had been assigned as one of its pilots. He had trained eight months for as mission, but this was actually the first time he was seeing the real thing. Despite that, he was confident that he could make a dash for one of the suits, activate it, and fend off the attackers. But he wasn't sure if he could protect the other two suits.

Well, there was one way to find out.

Minho ran down the stairs, crouching down to avoid bullets and ricochet, then shooting at some of the men. As he reached the floor, he was surprised to see Taeyeon and the man from before also running into the hangar and looking around in panic and bewilderment. Some of the soldiers spotted them and tried to shoot them, but Minho shot at them first.Taeyeon spotted Minho and ran to him. Minho dragged her and the other guy behind crates of metal.

"What are you doing?" Minho started scolding, but Taeyeon put up a hand. "What?"

Taeyeon pointed towards one of the packages. "Jinki needs to go to the Goddess. Can you help him?"

The guy named Jinki protested. "What? What about you? I can't go anywh--"

"Ssh!" Minho hushed him. Then he turned to Taeyeon. "What happened to the Professor? Why do you trust him? Isn't he a civilian?" He paused to look over the crates and shoot an approaching soldier. "You know you can't trust civilians with military secrets, Miss Lee!"

Taeyeon took a deep breath. "We didn't see the Professor. There was an explosion. And as for your civilian question, the Professor originally wanted Jinki to look at the Goddess' system. Thinks he'd be the one to unlock it. That's why we're here. It cannot be activated if Jinki cannot work around the phase-shift system."

Minho nodded in understanding. He had heard about some problems with the final preparations for one of the packages. He had blamed the younger scientists for coming up with a last-minute feature that no one can correctly install. Who knew the Professor was actually the one behind that plan? He still didn't trust this Jinki but if Taeyeon and the Professor wanted him to look at the faulty system, then he'd help. With two activated suits, they can stop more assailants. "I'll take you there. But Jinki-ssi, you'll have to maneuver the Goddess on your own. Can you do that?"

Jinki blinked. "M-me? Goddess? But...I don't even know what a Goddess is!"

"You had flight training in BMU, right?" Minho tossed Taeyeon another gun after she threw hers. "Sorry, I saw the Blaze Military Uni emblem on your jacket," he said as Jinki wore a shocked look on his face. "How many hours?"

"60, I think."

Minho clicked his tongue. It was too little an experience. But it'll have to do. "Alright. Piloting the Goddess is just the same as flying a plane. Maybe."

"Maybe?" Jinki looked really panicked.

Minho ignored the guy's complaints and looked out of their hiding place. His breath hitched as he saw one of the assailants climbing towards the cockpit of one of the Goddesses. "Let's go!" he urgently said, jumping out and shooting at the enemies. From his periphery, he could see Taeyeon and Jinki racing towards the left. "Hurry!" he shouted. The assailant peered from behind the Goddess' legs, pointing his gun at Taeyeon, but Minho would have none of it. He quickly distracted the assailant from the two.

"Taeyeon, after that, take cover inside Valkyrie!" Minho shouted. He didn't wait for Taeyeon to reply. The assailant had climbed into the cockpit of the Goddess. Minho gritted his teeth, then turned to run towards the middle Goddess. Taeyeon was already floating upwards to the cockpit. Minho took out a few more of the enemies, then caught up with Taeyeon.

"Get in!" Minho gently pushed Taeyeon into the cockpit and then entered with her. He sat on the pilot's seat and let Taeyeon lean against his right side, her head just barely grazing the top of the cockpit. "Will your friend be alright?"

Taeyeon looked to their side as the pilot's cockpit window opened. "He'll be fine. He was chosen, you know."

"Pilot name: Minho Choi, Earth Alliance Delta Force, Eagle Eye team." Minho waited for the system's confirmation. "What do you mean, chosen?"

Taeyeon shrugged, gripping the back of Minho's seat tightly as the Goddess lurched into motion. "I just know the Professor has high hopes for him. He just doesn't know it yet, so neither will we."

Minho scoffed. "That sounds really promising! But right now, we have a Goddess to retrieve!" Minho stepped on the accelerating pedals and moved the power lever, checking if the Goddess is ready for movement and flight. "We need to get this one back before it causes a lot more damage."

Taeyeon grimly nodded. Minho looked at the screen near his controls.

Systems all green. Valkyrie is ready for launch.

Wow.... It's really interesting. I've never watched Gundam before so these terms are really new.
Do you think there will be a need to watch a few series?

[identity profile] posiento.livejournal.com 2014-12-16 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
hi nikki, sorry it's a bit late bc i'm cracking my head over statistics all day but now i'm on my gundam!geek mode, so be prepared for my incoherent rambles of nonsensicals i proudly call as monstrous comment kkk.

first off, i really like the way you build in the background, the definitions, the settings and all bc i think they're convenient for those who dont really understand gundam terminologies. heck, for someone who'd always been a gundam geek since forever (until shinee barged into my life that is l-lol), i tend to forget (or in actuality i didnt know at all, well, you know too busy ogling at all the bishies lmao). the settings on gs/gsd are really nostalgic bc gs had always been close to my heart. idk anything about gwing and gunicorn so sorry i couldnt pin point the similiarities orz.

i never thought that jinki may resembles kira yamato (forgive me if i'm wrong) until you wrote it out. the characterization of jinki as an engineering nerd and as a civillian is so on point for me, you know, him building the voltage coat for the sake of everyone's safety with presumably topnotch security/defend from any outer attacks without actually realizing his technology had been misused in developing mobile suits and everything, i can see where are you coming from and it's brilliant! in fact, all of the other characters so far are pretty on point. taeyeon sounds like cagalli yula atha to me and i sense a lil bit similarities between kibum and athrun zala or am i being delusional?? if i got it right, you're totally killing me bc biases /cries/ i may or may not noticed some similarities of other characters but lets leave that out for now, or else this comment gonna turns out longer than your fic lmao. but i'm reallllly curious who is taemin tho

the parts where jonghyun and minho identify themselves and launching the ms really gives me goosebumps bc the thought of my babies piloting gundams, i just ;___; as a matter of fact, i can picture them vividly (provided how detailed your descriptions are) and even heard the systemu oru gureen like in all the animes...... you get what i mean dont you???

the other thing i really like about this chapter is how the parts come in different characters' point of view. it gives me brief ideas of who they are, why are they there, whose side they're on blah blah blah. and holy shit they all in different sides!!! i wonder how they'll meet and be the best ot5 of the cosmic era and fall in love with each other omgomgomg. lmao i'm sure there'll be more surprises later on but at least i'm not left so confused for now (well except for taemin) i already feel so giddy and excited at the thought of what awaits me in the next chapters. i'm not rushing you to update or anything tho bb, just take your time okay ^^ please no pressure. i'm just overwhelmed at the thought that someone actually wrote a gundam!au shinee.

also, hats off for you on the precise gundam terminologies used. you're truly a gundam!geek bc your gundam vocabularies amazed meee i'm not even kidding. it'll take me thousands years to know the words even existed l-lol.

i'm sorry this comment is all over the place and incoherent af. there're lots of other things i want to comment on but too bad i'm not eloquent enough and i cant english out of sudden hence the terrible language plus with all the statistical numbers in my head atm orz. i'm looking forward to the next chapter but as i said before, take your time, do not rush and i hope you had fun writing the fic. thank you for writing and sharing this with us and thank you for cracking your head over reading my absurd comment. ^^

ps: sorry stupid edit :(

OMG Nikki this is fascinating!!! I love it so much and I was intrigued just by reading the summary. I really admire your writing and hope you continue this one. /hugs

OK I confess I don't know a single thing about Gundam, but this got me hooked since the summary. Your writing is so descriptive I really can see in my head like a movie. I also confess I might have read this 3 or 4 times, and I have the feeling I'll be back a couple of times again.

This is amazeballs!

This is so exciting, and very, very Gundam! The details are intricate and got me immersed in the story. It's clear you've thought this out very well. I'm most intrigued by Taemin. Can't wait for the next part :D
